How Osteopathy can help relieve Back Pain

Most of the people working in offices and sitting at a desk for long hours would experience lower back issues. The posture plays a key role in that process as well as a lack of movement or a bad desk setup can often the cause of the pain on a short, middle and long term basis. It can also be caused by weakness in core and gluteus muscles, tight hamstrings or a combination of the above.

Upper back pain is also very common in desk-based workers and can quickly become a nightmare when recurrent and hard to alleviate.

Exercise plays a key role in keeping the body strong and healthy. People who exercise on a regular basis have a tendency to develop or have experienced lower back pain before. Therefore, they need to ensure that they are utilising all the core muscles (abdominals, upper and lower back, inner thighs, hips and glutes). Together, they maintain all structures around the core healthy, supported and pain free. Therefore, they should be exercised evenly to avoid any imbalances.

Our osteopaths help those wanting to strengthen their core muscles as well as any particular area in order to prevent back pain from reoccurring.
